COMPETITIVENESS OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS AND FACTORS OF MARKET ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

An attempt to fully reveal the essence of the term “product competitiveness” is made in the article. Ideas of national and foreign economics scholars about the studied economic category are collected, graphically shown, and summarized. Main trends of determining the product competitiveness are described. Definitions of such concepts as “parameters of product competitiveness” and “indicators of product competitiveness” are given to show the difference between them. A group classification of parameters and indicators of product competitiveness is also shown separately. A typical way of determining the product competitiveness, based on the life cycle stages of the good, is schematically depicted in the article in order to profoundly understand the essence of the “product competitiveness” category. Besides, considering the specificity of the agricultural sector of the economy, the process of product competiveness formation is analyzed and the definition of the term is given. Factors affecting the agricultural products competitiveness are listed and described in an easy to understand manner. Finally, the generalization of all possible measures, which in our opinion result in the possibility of agricultural products competitiveness increase, is made.
