Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis of an Evaporative Cooling System
Journal Title: Strojnicky casopis - Journal of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2016, Vol 66, Issue 2
Abstract
The use of chlorofluorocarbon based refrigerants in the air-conditioning system increases the global warming and causes the climate change. The climate change is expected to present a number of challenges for the built environment and an evaporative cooling system is one of the simplest and environmentally friendly cooling system. The evaporative cooling system is most widely used in summer and in rural and urban areas of India for human comfort. In evaporative cooling system, the addition of water into air reduces the temperature of the air as the energy needed to evaporate the water is taken from the air. Computational fluid dynamics is a numerical analysis and was used to analyse the evaporative cooling system. The CFD results are matches with the experimental results.

Studies on Improvement of Performance of Compression Ignition Engine Fuelled with Mixture of Honge Biodiesel and Tire Pyrolysis Oil
The biodiesel has lower volatility and is costlier than the fossil diesel. Hence it is necessary to add a low cost fuel which has higher volatility, with the diesel. The tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) produced from waste tire...
The Effect of the Free Surface on the Singular Stress Field at the Fatigue Crack Front
Description of stress singularity in the vicinity of a free surface is presented. Its presence causes the retardation of the fatigue crack growth in that region and fatigue crack is being curved. Numerical model is used...
Influence of Bypass on Thermo-Hydraulics of VVER 440 Fuel Assembly
The paper deals with CFD modelling and simulation of coolant flow within the nuclear reactor VVER 440 fuel assembly. The influence of coolant flow in bypass on the temperature distribution at the outlet of the fuel ass...
THE INFLUENCE OF MATERIAL ON THE OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SPUR GEARS MANUFACTURED BY THE 3D PRINTING TECHNOLOGY
The advanced development of additive technologies over the past years led to the fact that parts made by these technologies have been increasingly used in the most diverse engineering applications. One of the most famo...
Snake Robot Locomotion Patterns for Straight and Curved Pipe
In the paper the locomotion of snake robot is introduced considering locomotion in straight and curved pipe. For the straight pipe locomotion was designed traveling wave locomotion pattern with sine-like wave which exp...
