Computerised X ray – A Better Tool in Musculoskeletal Diagnosis

Abstract

Computed radiography offers many advantages over the conventional radiography. With new technological breakthroughs and the development of systems that are more cost-effective, there has been an increase in its use in the recent years. In the field of -radiological research methods, digital imaging is becoming increasingly prevalent. Apart from computed tomography, magnetic resonance and angiography, also in projection radiography, traditional film/screen imaging is more and more being replaced by digital imaging using storage phosphor technology. Digital imaging offers various new possibilities in image processing, storage and transmission, dose reduction and fast availability of images. While the technique is more than 15 years old, it is only recently that technological and economic aspects of these systems have become favorable enough to envisage a more widespread clinical application. In our study we have analyzed the advantages of using the Computerized Radiography over Conventional Radiography in Musculoskeletal traumatic conditions.
