CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS OF ECONOMIC NATIONALISM IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL POLITICAL ECONOMY
Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2017, Vol 10, Issue 54
Abstract
From the 16th century until today, historically, the concept of economic nationalism is differently named as Mercantilism, Protectionism, the German Historical School, new-Mercantilism and it seems to be a series of concepts, themes, or postures rather than an economic or political theory. The analytic concept of economic nationalism in the field of international political economics has not been clarified and has not received sufficient academic interest because of its different meanings attributed historically. In this study, the meaning attributed to the concept of economic nationalism has been examined by economic and political means and a synthesis has been tried to be reached.
