Abstract

Problem setting. The development of the pharmaceutical industry in Ukraine is strategic importance because it’s one of the element in ensuring of national security and manufacturer of high social significance. Domestic enterprises in a competitive and licensing in accordance with the standards GMP trying to increase production capacity and implement modernization and scientific base while maintaining the availability of prices for medicines. A characteristic feature of the pharmaceutical market is the high import dependence; therefore, strengthening orientation to meet the needs of domestic market, researching of status and industry development trends reveals it relevance. Recent research and publications analysis. Selected questions are described in publications of local scientists A. S. Nemchenko, G. I. Frolova, problems of import-substituting production covered in the works A. A. Kotvitska, V. G. Kostyuk, N. V. Demchenko and others. Paper objective. The article’s purpose is to study of dynamic processes of pharmaceutical production in Ukraine and identify trends and patterns of further development. Paper main body. Pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine is one of the fastest growing and high-yield industries. It has become a leader in terms of growth in sales of products during the period of 2010–2015: underlying rates was 174 %, while the annual growth of sales volumes of manufactured pharmaceutical products and preparations was 16–19 %, and in 2015 even 39 %. Profitability on operating pharmaceutical industry enterprises of Ukraine for the corresponding period averaged 13–17 %. Conclusions of the research. The study analysis shows that the volume of pharmaceutical production in the domestic enterprises grow to be about 17 %. The cost of foreign drugs is in four and five times higher than domestic drugs. With this, domestic pharmaceutical producers could meet the demand internal customers and have increased in value and volume. However, in 2015 there are some items on the negative trends of decline, the market competition becomes worsening. The question about equivalence of standards is an integral part of Good Manufacturing Practice. Short Abstract for an article Аbstract. The author has analyzed changes in production dynamics for main types of pharmaceutical products during the period of 2010–2015. Sustainable growth trend of production volume, operation profitability growth and reduction in the number of business were found. The increase in the aggregate balance mainly by outside funds represents an increase of pharmaceutical companies’ productive capacities.
