CONNECTION OF EXPLOSIVE POWER WITH TOP-CLASS RESULTS IN KARATE

Journal Title: Sport Mont - Year 2007, Vol 0, Issue 12

Abstract

On the basis of obtained results, we could assume that the level of explosive leg power infl uences on achieving top-class results in karate. A champion model (Stojadinov): shows that karate demands higher values of maximum jump, optimal energetic consumption and output, while it is achieved a maximum use of high values. It could be concluded that explosive leg power infl uences signifi cantly on achieving top-class sports results and it could infl uence notably on motion and technique choice which a competitor uses most frequently. It is obvious that without high level of explosive leg power there are no top-class results in karate, what indicates some former researches in karate. On the basis of former researches (Zulic 1987, 1989, Doder and collaborators 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005) top-class karate players (seniors and pioneers) with higher explosive leg power showed better results in accomplishing of karate technique. That means that harmonic power canon of a mentioned sample of our best karate players in struggles as well as a model of our best karate players on European and World Championships could be considered as a universal model of a relation between dynamometric power of some muscular groups, which by suitable assumptions and other factors from an equation of a success specifi cation in this sport, provides the best condition for achieving maximum values in karate battles.
