Journal Title: Scholars Journal of Applied Medical Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
Abstract: Our aiims was to study the outcome of topical mitomycin C (MMC) used as sole treatment strategy for ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN). This is a Prospective, non-comparative interventional case series of primary OSSN lesions of 15 patients treated in a single ophthalmology district hospital over a 5 year period. Study showed that 15 cases of OSSN received a treatment regimen of topical MMC 0.2% or 0.4%. Mean follow up of 24 months revealed no recurrences. So we concluded that MMC treatment alone can be used as a primary treatment strategy with very favourable results in both short term and long term follow up.
