Constitutional aspects of sports mastery in modern pentathlon

Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine which of somatic indices of highly-qualified modern pentathlon representatives (men and women) correlate at the highest level of connections with the level of sports mastery and training experience and to settle the question whether these connections are of a dimorphic character. The study involved Polish national modern pentathlon team. The male athletes age oscillated between 18-23 (20,4±1,5), and the training experience – 6-13 years (10,4±2,1). The female age, on the other hand, between 18-35 (23,4±5,2), and the training experience – 6-20 years (12,4±4,4). 20 basic somatic features were measured. It was found that the connection of the studied somatic features with the level of sports mastery and the training experience of Polish modern pentathlon representatives are of heterogeneous and dimorphic character
