Abstract

The aim of the article is to present the course of the constitutional crisis in Poland. The article, in chronological order, shows all the actions taken around the Constitutional Tribunal from the beginning of the crisis which started in 2015, with particular emphasis on the events of 2016. Considerations presented in the article focus on the problems of basic issues of constitutional law, in particular the issue of the role of the Constitutional Tribunal in a democratic state of law and the importance of the Constitutional Tribunal in Poland. The article pays particular attention to Constitutional Tribunal’s judgments on examining constitutional compliance of the acts on the Constitutional Tribunal, adopted by the parliament and its amendments.<br/><br/>
