Construction of Rights and Interests Protection System for Clinical Research Subjects
Journal Title: Medicine and Philosophy - Year 2024, Vol 45, Issue 21
Abstract
Protection of subjects' rights and interests is the core goal of medical ethical review. At present, there are gaps in the concept, mechanism and system construction of subjects' rights and interests protection, highlighting the urgent needs for updated concepts and improvement in existing protective frameworks. The responsibility for protecting subjects' rights does not solely rest with the medical ethics review committee. Instead, it is a coordinated, multi-institutional system involving the ethics review committee alongside various departments and entities, working together to comprehensively safeguard subjects' rights. This system is open and dynamically optimized, requiring external resources and information input, and improved internal concepts and system output, with each reinforcing the other.
