CONSUMER ATTITUDES TO ORGANIC PRODUCTS AND THEIR PURCHASING BEHAVIOR ON THE MARKET OF DAIRY PRODUCTS

Abstract

The aim of the paper was to present and evaluate the behavior of buyers in the market for dairy products, taking into account the importance of product attributes related to ecology in the buying process. Attitudes towards the importance of product attributes related to ecology have been linked with other elements of consumer behavior in the process of decision making on purchases of dairy products, such as product selection criteria, the choice of location and frequency of purchase in various types of stores. The research part of the publication is based on the analysis of the results of survey carried out in 2015 on a group of 694 students. The study shows that there are differences in purchasing behavior of buyers. There is a group of customers for whom it product attribute linked with ecology is important (“Eco +”) and there are clients who do not pay attention to this factor (“Eco–”). Group “Eco+” when choosing dairy products takes into account factors related to quality and food safety. Purchasers “Eco–” pay special attention to the flavor, freshness of product, pricing, habit and expiry date.<br/><br/>
