Journal Title: International Journal of Social Science And Human Research - Year 2024, Vol 7, Issue 07
Abstract
In the context of e-commerce in the digital era, consumer protection is becoming increasingly important in order to address challenges such as data security, adaptive law enforcement, and the need for effective regulation. This article employs a normative legal research approach to analyze pertinent regulations pertaining to consumer protection in online transactions, including the Consumer Protection Law and the ITE Law in Indonesia. The primary challenges include a lack of consumer awareness of their rights in the context of digital transactions and the necessity for regulatory reform to keep pace with the rapid development of digital technology. This study also underscores the significance of enhanced consumer education and the necessity for continuous regulatory reform to guarantee adequate consumer protection in the context of an increasingly intricate e-commerce milieu.
