Contribution des données géospatiales a l’étude du risque de paludisme en milieu péri-urbain: cas de la localité d’Anonkoua kouté (Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire).

Journal Title: International Journal of Engineering and Science Invention - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 1

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the risk of malaria in Anonkoua Kouté, in Abidjan Region. Thus, environmental parameters related to the development of the vector were mapped using remote sensing data to identify potential areas of breeding sites. Ground data collected using a GPS helped completing this information. The main larvae sites identified are water points, vegetation and shallows. Exposure due to these different sites informations was also mapped and classified. A Multicriteria analysis was conducted to assess environmental risk, which helped mapping sensitivity areas to malaria. The results showed that water points were the most important criterion for environmental risk, followed by vegetation and lowlands. Areas of high sensitivity to Malaria were mainly around valleys with the highest number of incident cases.
