Conversion is a common way of creating new words and inherent in many languages, but in English it is more common. Words of different parts of speech may be in the conversion relationship. In modern English first group caused by the method of conversion is the verb. The formation of nouns from verbs also represents the widespread type of word formation in modern English. These nouns form the second significant group of words encountered on the way of conversion. Conversion – the predominant type of verbal word formation. New verbs are often formed from nouns. Formation noun from an adjective – the process is much more complicated than converting an adjective from the noun. This is due to significant changes in the semantic structure of the adjective: the meaning of quality is not easy to convert into the meaning of object. Substantivation of the proper names – a phenomenon which is quite common in English. As a result of objectivization name of the country, cities and continents were formed. Nowadays conversion has no restrictions due to different parts of speech, word formation types according to the word origin.
