Abstract

Descriind relația de interdependență, folosind bilantul de materiale, vom argumenta modul în care economia este o parte integranta a mediului și mediul reprezinta limita naturală a oricarei inițiativei economice, cu alte cuvinte a limitelor impuse de legile termodinamicii. Punctul focal al dezbaterilor teoretice se mută de la conceptul de creștere la cel de dezvoltare, intr-o abordare tridimensionala: economica, sociala si de mediu. Astfel, diferitele poziții ecologiste pot fi canalizate spre patru versiuni ale durabilitatii mediului, iar pe baza constientizarii dobandite este vorba de „un spectru de poziții ecologiste care se suprapun, de la durabilitate foarte slaba la foarte puternica”.
