Abstract
The reaction of carboxymethylation and amidation of 2,2,6,6 tetramethyl-4-hydroxy piperidine with chloracetic acid and oxalyl chloride was investigated. It was shown that instead of the expected derivatives of aminoacetic acid and diamide hydrochloride the formation of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-hydroxyoxy piperidine hydrochloride takes place.
