CRYONICS. ETHICAL ASPECTS OF HUMAN CRYOPRESERVATION AND VITRIFICATION

Abstract
This article examines the possibility to influence the life expectancy of a person with the help of cryonics, as well as the ethical problems associated with this technology. Cryonics is an opportunity to freeze the dead people just dead, as well as those that are on the verge of life and death. This is done by vitrification, and afterwards the body temperature drops to extremely low temperatures, for further storage in liquid nitrogen. The goal of cryonics is to keep patients in that unchanged state, until the technologies do not come up to such opportunities as cell repair, which means defrosting and treatment of doomed patients. However, this practice conflicts with the basic question of philosophy – life and death.
