Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 62
Abstract
The prevalence of allergic diseases is high among children, including infants. In this regard, the issues of timely prevention, diagnosis and treatment are extremely important. The gold standard for the diagnosis is provocative test. To prevent food allergy in children at high risk, and if the use of breast milk is impossible, it should be recommended to use hypoallergenic formula based on partial hydrolysis of the protein with oligosaccharides complex, which have proven positive effect in the first 4 months of life. For the elimination diet in cow’s milk protein allergy in bottle-fed babies, formulas on the basis of significant hydrolysis of protein should be used for 6–12 months. In case of their inefficiency and in severe allergies to cow’s milk protein, amino acid mixtures are recommended.
