Cutting detection method for tool condition monitoring in drilling process
Journal Title: Annals of WULS, Forestry and Wood Technology; Zeszyty naukowe SGGW - Year 2017, Vol 100, Issue
Abstract
Cutting detection method for tool condition monitoring. The state of the cutting tool has a strong influence on the quality of the workpiece surface obtained and the dimensional accuracy of the workpiece. Effective monitoring of tool status is important for product quality and production cost reduction An industrial piezoelectric sensor for measuring force and torque was used in the study. The indirect status monitoring method of a machining tool requires reliable, repetitive selection of representative time segments of the signal from the sensor. The methodology of early cutting detection for tool wear assessment was proposed in the drilling process.
