Cutting Force Prediction for Three Types of Cutting Materials and Lathe Tool Holders

Abstract

In this study the machining cutting forces is analysed. Experimental measurements are performed on the three types of the cutting tools and lathe tool holders in order to collect the experimental data. The method of ANFIS (adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system) was applied to the data to estimate the cutting forces. Three inputs are considered in this investigation: cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut. The ANFIS process was also implemented in order to detect the predominant variables affecting the prediction of cutting forces of the analyse material.
