DAMAGE TO THE DUODENUM: ISSUES OF DIAGNOSTICS AND SURGICAL TREATMENT

Abstract
Injuries of the duodenum can arise as a result of the action of a variety of factors and differ by localization and the extent of its damage. Diagnosis of injuries of the duodenum, especially of retroperitoneal ones, is difficult, which requires the use of a comprehensive algorithm for examining the victims. The main method of treatment of duodenal trauma is timely and earliest possible surgical intervention, the nature of which depends both on the etiologic cause of the trauma and anatomical features of the damage to the intestine and adjacent organs.
