Data confidentiality in Online Social Networks: A Survey

Journal Title: International Journal of Science and Research (IJSR) - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 1

Abstract

The use of online social network (OSN) has been growing exponentially in the present era. As large volume of data is being uploaded by different users, securing the data from unwanted users is a major issue. The data uploaded on the social networks is not secured according to the policies and requirements of the owner who has uploaded the data. Various factors can be considered to achieve the access control of the data in OSN through different mechanism. The paper surveys these methods rigorously and also proposes the innovative method to achieve data confidentiality in OS by defining the access control mechanisms.
