DECREASING THE USE OF UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE IN THE LATE 1950’s – DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE 1960’s

Abstract
In this article the author studies the anti-national language policy in Ukraine in the late 1950’s – during the first half of the 1960’s. The main task of this policy was gradual and systematic destruction of Ukrainian language and culture. Russification of all life spheres of Ukrainian people reduced significantly the use of Ukrainian language, formed the status of its inferiority and laid the basis for an intensive, dimensioned denationalization of Ukrainians.
