Definition and prediction of thermal state of cylinder assembly of an internal combustion engine: a new methodology
Journal Title: Recueil de mécanique - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
This study deal with a new approach for the definition and prediction of the thermal state of internal combustion engine elements. In this paper, it is well elaborated for diesel engine cylinder liner. The scientific innovation of the new methodology consists in the use of data from external heat balance to determine the thermal state, without carrying out complex and expensive experiments. It takes into account the different heat transfer components: from gas and heat transfer due to friction of piston rings and skirt. In short, the identification of all the components of the heat flux through cylinder liner wall of one diesel will allow to determine the thermal state for others diesel engine. It can also be propagated later to determine the thermal state of other engines components such as piston and cylinder head as it can be spread for the definition of the mechanical loading.

Numerical investigation of latent heat thermal energy storage system
The present work aims to study numerically the performance of a latent heat thermal energy storage unit. Which is composed of shell and tube. The annular space is filled by a phase change material (PCM), however the wate...
Contribution to the study of the thermal effect – application to a tilting pad thrust bearing
This paper deals with one of the most important phenomena occurring in tilting pad thrust bearings. This is the thermal phenomenon. Indeed, the viscosity of the lubricants is very dependent on film temperature, hence th...
Temperature evaluation on a transmission by timing belt «Binder magnetic»
Transmissions by synchronous belts combine the advantages of transmissions by single belts (plates, trapezoidal or striated) due to their low weight, their low maintenance, great beaches of linear speeds and big transmis...
Numerical simulation of failure probability prediction: Application to cylindrical part of type III CNG storage vessel
The present paper focus on a numerical simulation failure probability prediction of cylindrical part of type III CNG storage vessel under pressure with end effect, which has a thin metallic envelope, called liner who is...
The highlighting of an internal combustion engine piston ring radial oscillations
This paper deals with the definition of the lube-oil film thickness in the piston ring cylinder liner junction of an internal combustion engine. At first, a mathematical model for the estimation of the film thickness is...
