Degree of approximation of functions belonging to Lipα class and weighted (Lr,ξ(t)) class by product summability method
Journal Title: Surveys in Mathematics and its Applications - Year 2010, Vol 5, Issue 0
Abstract
A good amount of work has been done on degree of approximation of functions belonging to Lipα, Lip(α,r), Lip(ξ(t),r) and W(Lr, ξ(t)) classes using Cesàro and (generalized) Nörlund single summability methods by a number of researchers like Alexits, Sahney, Goel, Qureshi, Neha, Chandra, Khan, Leindler and Rhoades. But till now no work seems to have been done so far in the direction of present work. Therefore, in present paper, two quite new results on degree of approximation of functions f∈ Lipα and f∈ W(Lr,ξ(t)) class by (E,1)(C,1) product summability means of Fourier series have been obtained.

Homotopy analysis method for solving KdV equations
A scheme is developed for the numerical study of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) and the Korteweg-de Vries Burgers (KdVB) equations with initial conditions by a homotopy approach. Numerical solutions obtained by homotopy ana...
Positive definite solution of two kinds of nonlinear matrix equations
Based on the elegant properties of the Thompson metric, we prove that the following two kinds of nonlinear matrix equations X=<I>Σi=1m</I> Ai</SUB&g...
Modeling Seasonal Time Series
The paper studies the seasonal time series as elements of a (finite dimensional) Hilbert space and proves that it is always better to consider a trend together with a seasonal component even the time series seams not to...

Perturbation analysis for the complex matrix equation Q ± AHXpA - X = 0
We study the sensitivity of the solution of a general type matrix equation Q ± AHXpA - X = 0. Local and nonlocal perturbation bounds are derived. The results are obtained usi...
