Demand for Data Transmission in the Context of Modern ICT Services

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to compare transmission capacity of selected broadband techniques. The authors examine the bandwidth and access requirements for e-services and provide statistics on the internet penetration rate in Poland compared to other EU countries. The Internet is presented as a tool for satisfying human needs (as defined by Abraham Maslow). The analysis is accompanied by forecasts based on primary and secondary data.
