Abstract

Dignified quality of life conditioned by the state of psychophysical health, as well as capability for social functioning, are the measure of civilizational development of society on the verge of the 21st century. Due to the progress in medical sciences people live to an old age, and the increase in life span results in a greater number of the elderly population requiring medical and rehabilitation care. The risk associated with pharmacotherpy is growing, hence, attention has been paid by health services to the possibility of a wider application of physical therapy methods. For many patients, rehabilitation is a chance to return to occupational activity and considerably affects the optimum quality of life, especially at an old age. Studies conducted among 1,021 individuals indicate a high interest of society in rehabilitation procedures which would consider the demands according to disorders and age.
