DEPENDABILITY DEVELOPMENT OF WEAPONS SYSTEMS IN ASPECT OF USERS NEEDS

Abstract
Further needs of weapons systems dependability development have been noticed. The life cycle of technical systems with respect to material existence and acquisition process are presented. The main concepts related to dependability are defined. The stages of achieving reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) of weapons systems are described. RAM achievement in the context of widely understood users’ needs are depicted. The principles of selecting and characterising RAM metrics are given.
