Employeeengagementisthelevelofcommitmentandinvolvementanemployeehastowardshisorganisationanditsvalues.Tosustaininthishighlycompetitiveenvironment,unexceptionablelevelofperformanceofworkersispossibleonlywhenworkforcerevealstenaciouscommitmenttowardstheirerrands.AmajorproblemthatbanksinIndiawillface,onceinformationandtechnologyimplementationreachesitsoptimumlevel,isstaffretention.Theyneedtotraintheirexistingstafftofunctioneffectivelyinthenewenvironmentandoncetherequisiteskillsareacquiredbyemployees,theymayhavetroubleinretainingthestaff.ItisinthiscontextthatthepresentstudyprovidesananalysisoffactorsthatappeartoberelevantinthecontextofemployeeengagementintheIndianbankingindustry.TheimportantfactorsemergingfromtheprimarysurveyofbankemployeesinDelhi arecompensationandcareergrowth,rewardsandrecognitionandseniorssupportfactors.
