DESCRIPTION OF EUROPEAN REGIONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

Abstract
In the article has been defined that the successful implementation of sustainable development strategy largely determined not by individual country actions and the joint work of states of the specific region. That is why the regional sustainable development strategies implemented by European countries in the Baltic region, Scandinavia and the European Union have been explored. The study showed that discussed strategies have a number of common features, such as: 1) control of climate changes and the use of natural resources 2) education, science and innovation research in sustainability development, 3) welfare of local citizens.
