Design and Simulation of a Decentralized Railway Traffic Control System
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2016, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
With the increasing use of railway transportation, various methods have been developed for the control and management of train traffic. Train traffic control systems that are currently in use are overwhelmingly centralized systems. In this study, the development of the general structure of railway traffic control techniques is examined, centralized and decentralized control systems are investigated, and an alternative train traffic control system, the Decentralized Train Traffic Management System (DTMS), is suggested. Simulation results on the possible application of the proposed method to a railway line in South-East Turkey are employed to evaluate the performance of the developed system.

A Review of Ground Target Detection and Classification Techniques in Forward Scattering Radars
This paper presents a review of target detection and classification in forward scattering radar (FSR) which is a special state of bistatic radars, designed to detect and track moving targets in the narrow region along th...
An Energy-efficient Data Transmission Scheme in Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks
Energy is a precious resource in underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs). In these networks, the number of data transmissions between sensor nodes dominates energy consumption. Complex signal processing techniques al...
MRI Image Segmentation Using Conditional Spatial FCM Based on Kernel-Induced Distance Measure
Fuzzy C-means (FCM) clustering is the widest spread clustering approach for medical image segmentation because of its robust characteristics for data classification. But, it does not fully utilize the spatial information...
A Cluster-based Approach Towards Detecting and Modeling Network Dictionary Attacks
In this paper, we provide an approach to detect network dictionary attacks using a data set collected as flows based on which a clustered graph is resulted. These flows provide an aggregated view of the network traffic i...
