Design for Needs of Handicapped Groups of the Population in Focus of Attention of the Academic Science: Experience of the Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture

Abstract
Article is devoted to a problem of improvement of conditions of activity and rehabilitation of handicapped groups of the population in the cities of the Donetsk Region. Convenience of social and medical care of handicapped groups of the population in the cities of Donetsk, Makeevka, Shakhtersk, Ilovaysk, Gorlovka and others is investigated by authors. The corresponding conclusions about need of reconstruction of social infrastructure of these cities taking into account specific needs of disabled people are drawn. The attention to opportunities and expediency of use of historical, cultural, natural and landscape capacity of the Donetsk Region in the medical and rehabilitation purposes is focused. The main directions of scientific work of scientists of regions higher education institution in the field of design for needs of handicapped groups of the population are formulated.
