Design of a Workflow System to Improve Data Quality Using Oracle Warehouse Builder
Journal Title: Journal of Applied Quantitative Methods - Year 2008, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
We are concerned with the development of a workflow system for data quality assurance. The approach is based on the Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) in its latest available version. We motivate the data quality problem mainly companies are faced to, discuss some basics about data quality assurance of (mostly) non-metric data, and introduce our proposal for a workflow machine. We very shortly present some striking features, i.e. the architecture and data quality cycle of the Oracle Warehouse Builder having set the “Data Quality Option”. Next we report about our software DaRT , an acronym representing Data Quality Reporting Tool. We close with some remarks and perspectives for ongoing research.

Bootstrap and Jackknife Resampling Algorithms for Estimation of Regression Parameters
In this paper, the hierarchical ways for building a regression model by using bootstrap and jackknife resampling methods were presented. Bootstrap approaches based on the observations and errors resampling, and jackknife...
Implementation and Applications of a Three-Round User Strategy for Improved Principal Axis Minimization
This paper presents a three-round user strategy (EPM), extending the C implementation of Brent’s PRAXIS algorithm by Gegenfurtner. In a first round, EPM applies a multistart procedure for global optimization, randomly ge...
USING STRUCTURAL EQUATION AND ITEM RESPONSE MODELS TO ASSESS RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LATENT TRAITS
We deepen the two main approaches to the problem of measurement error in social sciences, the Structural Equation Models (SEM) and the Item Response Theory Models (IRM), comparing two different estimation procedures. The...
Security Management in a Multimedia System
In database security, the issue of providing a level of security for multimedia information is getting more and more known. For the moment the security of multimedia information is done through the security of the databa...
Reliability Sampling Plans: A Review and some New Results
In this work we present a large area of aspects related to the problem of sampling inspection in the case of reliability. First we discuss the actual status of this domain, mentioning the newest approaches (from a techni...
