Design of numerical flow model for evaluation of geoengineering investments impact on groundwater on the example of tunnel between Wolin and Uznam islands
Journal Title: Biuletyn Państwowego Instytutu Geologicznego - Year 2009, Vol 436, Issue 436
Abstract
The investigations were conducted to establish a flow system, groundwater balance within the area surrounding the tunnel between Uznam and Wolin islands using MODFLOW package in configuration of the GROUNDWATER VISTAS 5.0 environment. After model calibration for natural conditions the simulations were done for the three projected options of tunnel location. The most probable variant called K3W1 was analyzed more detailed showing that such a concept could generate some influence on the Wydrzany water intake. But after simulation in pumping conditions on the average level for the last years it is evidenced that groundwater surface decrease due to the ramp construction doesn’t disrupt normal exploitation of the intake.

Potrzeby i możliwości identyfikacji parametrów ośrodka koniecznych do modelowania przepływu wód podziemnych
GEOLOGICAL AND PHYSICAL-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF LOWER PALEOZOIC DEPOSITS OF VOLHYNO-PODILLYA, WESTERN UKRAINE
The 340 to 1102 m thick multi-facies sequence was deposited during the Silurian at the Volhyno-Podillya margin of the East European Platform. The open shelf facies bordered from the west by a barrier formed by reefs, bio...
Hydrochemical background of the upper Wołosatka catchment, High Bieszczady Mts.
The study area covered 9.5 km[sup]2[/sup] of the upper Wołosatka catchment in the High Bieszczady Mts. The area is composed of flysch sediments of the Krosno beds, folded and transected by deep faults. Hydrochemical back...
