Determinants of Career Management Practices in Banking Sector: A Practice in Kırıkkale

Abstract

Career management; is a management model that enables enterprises to evaluate the possibilities and capabilities of their employees without going to the distinction between work and private life and to evaluate them in the most suitable positions and to consequently adapt the organizational goals with individual goals and to ensure the utmost benefit from the employees of the enterprises. Career management is a process that reveals what individuals are capable of doing and what they can do, that is, their capabilities and capabilities, in a clear, transparent, and understandable way that they must do in order to reach their goals in the future. In terms of the banking sector, it is necessary to continuously improve the working environment and to adapt to change in order to develop strategies for retaining qualified personnel and to lose customers who are expecting quality service. The aim in this context is to examine the key determinants of career management practices (career management, career planning, career development and pathways) in the banking sector. For this purpose, a survey was sent to 120 of the 150 employees working in the banks operating in Kırıkkale, and a questionnaire was applied to 86 personnel who made a positive return.They were tested with X2 through SPSS 18.0 for related measures of whether there was a meaningful difference between their views on career management, career planning, career development and implementation of the pathways. The survey found that participants' views on career management practices were more positive than their views on career planning and career development practices. It has been determined that the activities of the bank personnel on the career management system are implemented in the middle level.
