DETERMINANTS OF REGIONAL DIFFERENCES OF FARM EQUIPMENT IN AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS IN POLAND

Abstract

The aim of the study was to group provinces due to factors having a potential impact on the regional differences of farm equipment in agricultural tractors. The Ward method was used to group the provinces. Four groups of provinces were distinguished which differed in terms of the proposed features. Provinces with the largest area of agricultural land per 1 tractor were characterized by the largest average area of farms, the largest share of farms specializing in field crops and the lowest level of employment in agriculture. The provinces with the lowest area of agricultural land per 1 tractor are those with the smallest area of farms, the smallest share of farmers with agricultural education and the smallest purchase value from 1 ha of agricultural land. The share of people employed in agriculture was the largest in these provinces.
