Determination of Fatigue Resistance of Vehicle Wheels by Structural Analysis
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Wheels rim which run under static and dynamic loads on vehicles are critical elements. Running wheels rim on surfaces under repeated stress, depending on the time, after a certain number of repeated, cracks occur. As a result of the progress of cracks breakage occurs in the material. In this study, rims of according to standard fatigue strength tests on the fatigue life tester is made. Also the wheels of the virtual environment was created by ANSYS 14.0 engineering simulation software and fatigue strength analysis was performed. Tests on fatigue testing machine with the analysis made in ANSYS 14.0 were compared.
