Determination of quasi-filtration phase of consolidation based on experimental and theoretical course of the uniaxial deformation and distribution of pore pressure
Journal Title: Geology, Geophysics & Environment - Year 2016, Vol 42, Issue 3
Abstract
In this work the consolidation characteristics of the experimental and theoretical was studied. The analyses was carried out on the basis of the axial soil deformation progress and pore pressure dissipation. The aim of this research was to put some light on the quasi-filtration phase of consolidation. The results of consolidation studies on five high quality paste samples prepared from krakowiec clay showed that the quasi-filtration occur only in specific stages of the whole process. The analysis of changes in consolidation coefficient depending on the degree of consolidation enables the separation of the region of quasi-fixed values cv.

Land subsidence caused by solution mining in the Mogilno salt dome
Occurrence of land surface subsidence is a result of rock salt extraction. The process is observed by geodetic measurements. On the Palędzie I salt mining field, such measurements are conducted every five years. The most...
Ludwigite-group minerals and szaibélyite: rare borate minerals from Vysoká – Zlatno skarn, Štiavnica stratovolcano, Slovakia
Beside of sedimentary evaporitic rocks, borate minerals occur also in some high temperature contact-metamorphic rocks, especially in skarns, locally in association with Fe and Sn ore minerals (e.g., Anovitz and Grew, 199...
The tectonics and stratigraphy of the transitional zone between the Pieniny Klippen Belt and Magura Nappe (Szczawnica area, Poland)
The Pieniny Klippen Belt is a narrow, complex structure stretching along a tectonic boundary between the Central and Outer Carpathians. Its formation involved two main evolutionary stages, the first, related to Late Cret...
