DETERMINATION OF THE QUANTITY OF INFORMATION FLOWS IN THE TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORKS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH REGARD TO CORRELATION CONNECTIONS
Journal Title: Телекомунікаційні та інформаційні технології - Year 2018, Vol 103, Issue 3
Abstract
Issues related to the improvement of the quality of the telecommunications network management system and the main criteria of the functioning of the telecommunication network management system are considered in the article. Design of a rational version of the system involves the choice of a large and heterogeneous set of parameters ‒ types and models of equipment, which complicates the formation of analytical model of management system. One of the important parameters is the bandwidth of the management system, which depends on the amount of control information. Change in the status of a network element which is a component of a network may cause corresponding changes in different locations and at different network levels. A refusal can spread and affect various network-level services. Switching to a non-operating state of one network element or even one or more parameters of a network element leads to the generation of a large number of emergency messages of different types and different formats transmitted from different locations. The management system should provide the automatic data collection depending on their correlation, based not only on the description of the state and behavior of the controlled components, but also on the explicit description of the state and behavior of the relationship between these components. The method of determination the necessary amount of management information based on correlation connections between the states of network elements is proposed. The method of calculating the amount of information developed on the basis of information theory allows to minimize the amount of information management flows and to calculate the number of communication channels for a control system with a given bandwidth provided in accordance with the Recommendations ITU-T M.3100, M3.400.
