Determining Gun Position on the Basis of Entities Characterising an Arc of Projectile Trajectory

Abstract

A method for determining an enemy gun position is presented, based on examination of an arc of trajectory of a projectile being tracked. Appropriate formulae for identification of a projectile by means of its ballistic coefficient are derived. Results of preliminary analysis of a method for calculating ballistic coefficient are also given. Necessity of a deepened analysis of accuracy and sensitivity of the method to the quality of measured data being processed is pointed out.
