DEVELOPMENT OF AUDIO SUPPORTED ANIMATING PROGRAM AND THE STORY APPLICATION

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop audio supported animating program for secondary school student and to animate students’ stories by using this audio supported program (ASAP). This program was developed as web-based for students to access easily. Students can utilize from this program without having to set up another program. They can share the animations which they prepared using this program via e-mail. This study was conducted with 8th grade 37 secondary school students. During the application procedure, students using this program animated the stories by using proper and subject specific picture and background images and they audio recorded themselves. At the end of the application, a questionnaire prepared for ASAP and consisting of 13 items were administered to students. When the questionnaire responses were analyzed, participants generally expressed that they adopted the use of ASAP program and it increased their academic achievement, and they would continue to use this software in the future.
