Development of RP-HPLC method for the simultaneous estimation of Pantoprazole and Naproxen in capsules

Abstract
A new RP-HPLC method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of Naproxen and Pantoprazole in capsule dosage form. Chromatographic separation was achieved on a reversed-phase C18 column (Inertsil ODS 3V,5µ,250mm×4.6mm) using mobile phase of a mixture of 50 volumes of Mixed Phosphate buffer (KH2PO4+K2HPO4) pH 4.5 and 30 volumes of Acetonitrile and 20 volumes of methanol with detection of 234 nm. Linearity was observed in the range 75-175 µg /ml for Naproxen (r2 =0.9962) and 6- 14µg /ml for Pantoprazole (r2 =0.9957) for the amount of drugs estimated by the proposed methods was in good agreement with the label claim.
