Development of universities in the conditions of forming knowledge economy

Abstract
The article discusses the conceptual framework for the development of universities in the context of knowledge management. Need for professionalization of university management has been proven. The features of the scientific and educational activities of universities, their effectiveness and efficiency are determined. The basic problems of the formation of third-generation universities are investigated. The problems of the formation of human and structural capital of universities are considered. The necessity of integrating the research and educational activities of the university is argued. The specificity of the formation of a knowledge management system in the context of an innovative economy is determined. The specificity of the university as an entrepreneurial organization is considered. Understanding of the motivational values of modern university activities is being shaped. The specificity of the role of universities in the development of a modern innovative society is determined.
