Abstract
55 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and encephalopathy were examined, there were 31 women (56.4 %) and 24 men (43.6 %). During the examination we assessed parameters of psychometric measures according to the results of MMSE+ test. The methods of MMSE+ consisted in the modification of the standard MMSE test: we summed up scores of the above mentioned test and the tests of fixing the numbers, drawing the clock and the five words. By means of the methods of Zung Self-Rating Depression the estimation of the emotional state was carried out. By the estimation of the research results of the cognitive functions there was received the clinically significant low grades for the women in the comparison with the men (p < 0.01). The modified MMSE+ found out the cognitive impairment of the medium severity among the patients with diabetes mellitus 2 type and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in 70.4 % of cases as opposed to the standard MMSE test which stated the cognitive impairment of the medium severity only in 29.6 % of the patients. According to the results of the carrying out the methods of the Zung Self-Rating Depression there was determined that the female sex dominated over the male sex. The modified methods, MMSE+ have the high sensitivity at the diagnostics of the recent cognitive impairment among the patients of the type 2 diabetes mellitus with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The cognitive impairment as well as the emotional impairment in the form of depression more frequently appears among women.
