Palabras clave: guía didáctica; medio ambiente; sensibilización ambientalista; educación ambiental.ABSTRACTEnvironmental conservation is vital in today’s times. Global warming is not a myth and we had feel the environmental consequences (melting of the poles, abrupt changes in the climate, among others) in the world already. Education and sensitizing about the situation are two urgent activities to conserve the planet. Framed in it, the design of a didactic guide for Unidad Educativa “Daniel Navea” teachers had been present to sensitize the students and communities adjacent to the Cataniapo River, in the Amazonas State (Venezuela) in environmental conservation. The research had been frame, methodologically, in the quantitative paradigm and in the special project modality with a descriptive field investigation support. As the results, it has that the Institution and the teachers do not include or execute in the PEIC, community activities in order to sensitize schoolchildren and adjacent society about the conservation of the environment in the Cataniapo River. Neither training courses are organized, there are not projects in execution or agreements, nor is there any related teaching material. The same goes for the community. Therefore, this prototype-teaching guide had been design
