DIDACTICS OF NATURAL SCIENCES IN FACULTY OF EDUCATION OF MASARYK UNIVERSITY

Abstract
One of the differences of the current curricula reform from the previous one is the inclusion of the groups of subjects into educational areas. This should have led to the strengthening of inter-subject relations, which could go from cooperation to the integration of subjects itself at primary and secondary schools. The basic prerequi-site is the communication among teachers. This trend will not be altered by any further development of curriculum documents. The example of the innovation of study programs for the Primary School Teaching Program at the Faculty of Edu-cation of Masaryk University is the introduction of the Didactics of Natural Sciences in the academic year of 2005/06. This subject was created based on a long-term cooperation of science departments at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk Uni-versity. The new subject works with project teaching methods. Students prepare their teaching lesson on the given topic and then, at selected schools, put this lesson into practice. During recent years, the following topics have been presented to students: Fruit Tree Importance in the Landscape, Life in Motion, Driving by Car or Our Household.
