DIGITIZING PEOPLE IN VIVO

Abstract

The purpose of this research paper is to explore, analyze and discuss the changes in patients’ perceptions and attitudes based on their active web presence and work, made possible by computer-aided communications (CAC). In such on-off or regular processes there is an exchange of health and medical data, information and post-information products. They are a new form of social interaction and relations in which healthy and sick people can themselves be the subject of a digital presentation or users of their own or someone else’s digital information.Below is the presentation of a study about the projections of the patient as a self-organising and self-regulating system – a version of the Personal Health Manager where the e-citizen makes decisions and bears personal responsibility for their own health. This socially active patient – surfing the net – we describe as a health interested on-line user. Based on a literature review and a questionnaire survey, we have analyses: • Patient-oriented model vs. Electronic medical model • Patient-oriented care vs. Personal-focused care, as a manifestation of personalised medicine involving genomic information.
