DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF SERAT KALATIDHA: JAVANESE COGNITION SYSTEM AND LOCAL WISDOM

Abstract
A macapat song contains expressions stating Javanese knowledge and local wisdom called education message or piwulang. It concerns with character education covering religion, ethic, moral, day-to-day and government behaviors. The expressions implied in the song spread all over Javanese society through the songs they sing. By singing the song, they learn them by heart and subconsciously reflect the senses of the expressions. The expressions are called Javanese local wisdom just because it is only Javanese can understand and internalize them through long reflection.
