Journal Title: Analele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Alexandru Ioan Cuza din Iasi, Serie noua, Sectiunea II a. Biologie vegetala - Year 2013, Vol 59, Issue 2
Abstract
Within this study, the distribution of Flavoparmelia caperata (L.) Hale in Romania was analized. The study was performed to get informations about the distribution of this species in other localities than those mentioned in literature and its host substrata. This species was found out in different localities from Romania as corticolous, lignicolous and saxicolous. The field activities were performed in plain, hill and mountain wooded areas. In the original research, F. caperata was found on old trees such as oak, spruce, plum-tree, and birch. F. caperata has been found on older oaks within Vlădiceasca Forest (Ilfov County) and Bolintin-Deal, Căscioarelor and Ciompu forests (Giurgiu County). Thus, as in other European countries, F. caperata was found on older oaks in Romania. The studied species has not been found in alpine region and disturbed wooded areas. The results show quite good congruence with historical studies that pointed out the presence of F. caperata on oak trunks.
