Does the Mission and Vision Statements Reflect Organizations: Turkish Public Hospital Unions Example

Abstract
Purpose of the research, it has been determined which components are included in the mission and vision expressions of the Public Hospital Unions. It is identified which components are emphasized in these expressions. It was determined whether or not sektörel emphasis was made. It has been determined whether the role of top Organization is emphasized. In this research adopted by qualitative research method, secondary data collection method has been used. The system of the work is composed all of the 89 Public Hospital Unions in Turkey. The acquired knowledge has been investigated by content analysis method. In the result of the study, the vision and mission statements of 43 Public Hospital Unions have been gathered. In the result analysis of the mission components, service, location/market and customer components are most emphasized. The most mentioned concepts in the mission components were patient, reliable service, advanced technology, ethical principles, ecofriendly and employee satisfaction. The most mentioned concepts in the vision components were of human-focused understanding, safe health service, quality service, meet the expectation of patients, being effective leaders among in the international health market.
